PHOTOS TAKEN AT : CitizenM Hotel, Rotterdam
So today’s post is extra special and personal . As promised, I shall reveal all the photos with my new hair and tattoo. But also, I shall reveal the meaning of my tattoo and why I got it done.
As you can tell from the photos, the tattoo is coded. Its the roman numbers for – 188.8.131.52 – which when converted to alphabets stands for – G R I T = Grit.
What is Grit you ask? Well GRIT in psychology is a positive, non-cognitive trait based on an individual’s passion for a particular long-term goal with a powerful motivation to achieve their respective objective. This perseverance of effort promotes the overcoming of obstacles or challenges that lie within a gritty individual’s path to accomplishment and serves as a driving force in achievement realization.
What that basically means is that Grit is PASSION and PERSEVERANCE for your long term goals. Its about sticking with your goal, day in, day out – everyday. Its about working really hard to make your dream become a reality and never give up no matter what comes in your way.
Why I got this tattooed? If you spoke to any of my family or friends they would tell you that Im a workaholic and a perfectionist (virgo traits). I love to also make sure that I’m always busy doing something. Sundays and long holidays stress me out (I know, sucha weirdo :p). At times, yes, Im also a little over ambitious but that’s where family comes in to make me realize to enjoy the little things along the way and be grateful for everything that I’ve achieved so far. I truly believe that there is no substitute for hard work and GRIT sort of became my philosophy in life. Trying to tackle law school and working full time for my parents’ business while also running this blog is no easy task. But thats just the way Ive always enjoyed life. I believe that each and every person has a light inside of them, waiting for it to shine bright. They just have to find their path/goal and work really really hard to achieve it. I believe you should also do more of what makes you happy. Working hard towards my goals and being with family and friends makes me happy. So, I try to OD on that.
I hope this little message of mine, manages to inspire some of you to also work hard and persevere towards your goals. I hope it ignites a little fire in your stomach, and a sparkle in your eyes. And you never know what the future holds.. so don’t HOLD BACK!
Love and Light,
