Building a Brand and a Marriage: Diipa Büller-Khosla and Husband Oleg Büller-Khosla on the Realities of Co-Founding indē wild

How It Started: Building More Than a Brand

When you start a business as a husband-wife duo, people always ask: how do you make it work? That question has followed me and my husband, Oleg Büller-Khosla, since the very beginning of our journey with indē wild. And recently, we had the opportunity to unpack that question (and a lot more) with Sharan Hegde on the Finance With Sharan podcast.

For once, the spotlight wasn’t just on me. After years of being asked about my role as a founder, influencer, and mother, it was refreshing to see Oleg in the hot seat. I loved hearing his perspective on our journey together, the hard conversations, the breakthrough moments, and the daily behind-the-scenes realities that make up our life as partners in both business and marriage.

The Numbers Behind the Brand

The global skincare industry surpassed $155 billion in 2023 and is projected to grow to $190 billion by 2027 (Statista). In this competitive space, it’s easy to assume success is only measured in revenue or reach. But for us, building indē wild was never about being the biggest; it was about being the most meaningful.

“We always said indē wild was born to bridge two worlds. This conversation reminded us it’s also about bridging two people,” I shared on the podcast.

Our vision was to build something deeply authentic. A clean beauty brand that could serve a global audience while staying rooted in Ayurvedic wisdom. The business was born at our kitchen table, built during stolen hours between travel, new parenthood, and everything else life was throwing at us.

From Kitchen Table to Global Reach

You might know my story as “Diipa Khosla, building indē wild,” but this podcast gave us space to share what it was like to build something together. Oleg brought structure, financial strategy, and a quiet sense of certainty. I brought the vision, brand story, and passion for clean beauty.

“I brought the purpose. Oleg brought the plan. That’s how we made it work.”

As co-founders of indē wild, we talk about work a lot. Our home is sometimes more like a war room than a sanctuary, but that’s part of what makes it beautiful. This podcast didn’t just rehash success metrics—it dug into the feelings, the fears, the long nights that no one claps for.

We opened up about:

  • Navigating pricing and positioning in an oversaturated market
  • Launching in 4 markets during the pandemic when nothing felt certain
  • Raising a child while scaling a brand at the same time
  • Learning to disagree without disconnecting

Husband, Co-Founder, Strategist

Oleg Büller is more than just “Diipa Khosla’s husband.” He’s a builder, a strategist, and someone who understands the power of nuance. A former diplomat with a global lens, Oleg helps make our ideas scalable and sustainable.

“Oleg sees what I sometimes miss. He builds the engine beneath the vision.”

Steve Jobs once said, “Great things in business are never done by one person. They’re done by a team of people.” In our case, that team begins with two people who are willing to check their egos at the door.

Our skill sets don’t overlap much, but they fit together. I lead with gut and empathy. Oleg leads with data and systems. That’s why indē wild works—not because we always agree, but because we’ve learned how to move forward even when we don’t.

The Relationship Dynamic: Stronger With Time

When people Google “Diipa Khosla and husband” or “Oleg Büller Reddit,” they might be expecting gossip or headlines. What we hope they find instead is a story of two people who are figuring it out, just like everyone else.

Success for us isn’t the splashy launch or the trending product. It’s the quiet resolve to keep showing up. It’s the late-night brainstorms that lead to real change. And it’s the joy of building something that reflects who we are—flaws and all.

“It’s not about being right. It’s about being in sync,” Oleg said during our conversation. It’s a reminder I hold close.

Advice for Other Couple Co-Founders

We’re often asked how we separate our relationship from the business. The truth? We don’t. We’ve just learned how to integrate both with intention.

Here are a few things that worked for us:

  • Weekly check-ins (with zero phones allowed) to talk about both work and each other
  • Defined roles: I lead brand and content; Oleg leads operations and finance
  • No business talk after 8pm (except during launches…then all bets are off)
  • Celebrating even the smallest wins, especially when the journey gets hard

As Michelle Obama said, “You don’t build a bond without being willing to listen and be vulnerable.” And that applies to business partnerships too.

Why This Conversation Matters

This podcast wasn’t just another interview. It was a chance to slow down, reflect, and be seen not just as entrepreneurs, but as people.

To everyone listening or reading: thank you. For growing with us, for believing in our vision, and for making this wild journey so worth it.
